Huracan

Huracan, the name means “One Leg”, is the Maya god of storms, fire, and wind. He is referred to under the names of Kawiil and God K also. He is later called Tezcatlipoca by the Aztecs. He is a creator god in both Maya and Aztec mythology.

You can see the eye of a hurricane being formed by the suction of the mouth of a vision serpent in Reina. Storms are formed in caves according to Aztec and Maya beliefs. Caves are also seen as vision serpents to the Maya.

This image appeared in Reina the year hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Wilma and several other major storms impacted humanity. Being a creator god, using death and destruction brings forth new life and prosperity.
